I have always been a dog person. Maybe growing up with two golden retrievers and two litters of puppies had something to do with it. I’ve always appreciated the personality dogs have and have tried to capture some of those quirky moments we love seeing our four-legged friends experience.

Summer vacation truly allows the biggest time wasters. I spent about 45 minutes photographing this very patient Katydid insect on my front porch, trying out my new camera features. The katydid was very cooperative and even allowed me to move it to several different locations for the photo shoot. Here are my five favorite shots out of the hundred I took.

Love the curve on the antenae!

Great face.

I had to ask my retired Science teacher friend what kind of insect this was.

This is right after I moved it onto the white cup--very good model!

All done.
