The first year I moved into my house I planted over 100 zinnias, which doesn’t sound too bad, until you realize my yard is about 1/16 of an acre. Back then, I was ignorant and did not know the difference between an annual and perennial, so I had to start over the following spring. Ever since, I have loved to plant new things, and of course photograph them.  I can’t take all the credit for these beauties. Some are also from my mother’s garden. She taught me everything I know about gardening and also gifted me my first packet of seeds, watering can, and pruners.

If you look closely at the water droplet on this Elephant Ear leaf you will see reflections of my house.

These poppies were planted from seed pods from my mother's garden.

A glimpse into my shade garden.

Has a fly ever looked so beautiful?

A droopy rudbeckia.

A balloon flower from my mother's garden.
